Jan Wagner Memorial Community Gardens - Garden of Memories

Behind the main entrance area will be the garden of memories, or what we believe Jan would have called the prayer garden. This area will have various varieties of grape vines growing on lattice panels attached to the inside of the fences, and these will be treated just as any other fruit or berry we grow, The bulk of the garden will be planted with various kinds of flowers.

The centerpeice of this garden will be a large octagonal gazebo with benches on seven sides and a large octagonal picnic table in the middle. Fragrant vines will grow up trellises attached to the seven sides where the benches are. Anyone will be welcome to come here to read, pray, meditate, meet and talk to friends, or just to enjoy one of our beautiful Kansas days.

Until all available spaces are taken, the opportunity exists for people to have a four inch by eight inch brick paver set into the sidewalks in this area or to have a two inch by six inch brass plaque attached to the inside top plates of the gazebo. In keeping with the spirit of this area of the facility we ask that all bricks and plaques be placed in memory of a person or pet or to memorialize a community service organization.
